This member of the Araceae family was given this name by Henri Ernest Baillon in 1883. It is found in southern Africa, growing in a rich soil with lots of water and some sun. The rhizomes will grow to three centimetres in diameter, the whole plant will grow to 70 centimetres height. The flowers are from white to pale pink.

The genera name after Francesco Zantedeschi, an Italian botanist. The species name means 'white spotted'. The caudex from Plantsam.com.
