This member of the Talinaceae family is from Botswana, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by Moritz Kurt Dinter in 1927, growing in well-drained soil, and takes some water and sun. The caudex can grow to eight centimetres, the branches up to 40 centimetres, and the flowers are yellow.
The genera name is derived from the Senegalese name for a certain species in Senegal.
The species name means 'having a wavy edge -leaves'.
