This member of the Gesneriaceae family if found in Brazil. It was given this name by Harold Emery Moore in 1973. It grows in well-drained soil some water and lots of sun. The caudex will grow to 30 centimetres. The flowers are red and it can also be reproduced by cuttings from the caudex. The caudex grows mostly below surface. SubFamily: Gesnerioideae, Tribe: Gloxineae. The genera is named after Wilhelm Sinning,1792–1874, a gardener of the Botanische Gärten der Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. The species name means 'white hair'. This is a real early spring grower. The caudex on this one is 13 centimetres in diameter. The photo is taken 10/3.
