This member of the Gesneriaceae family was given this name by Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck in 1825. It is found in south-eastern, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to ten centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 45 centimetres in height. The flowers are white to pale yellow with a greenish-white throat. The genera is named after Wilhelm Sinning,1792–1874, a gardener of the Botanische Gärten der Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. This is the first with the name. The species name in honour of Franz Xaver Heller, 1778-1840, a German physician and botanist. The caudex from Burwur.net.
