This member of the Hyacinthaceae family was described by Anna Amelia Obermeyer in 1980.

It is found in Namibia, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The bulb grow up to five centimetres in diameter, the whole plant up to 24 centimetres in height. The flowers are pale mauve.

The genera name after Rhadamanthus, son of Zeus and Europa. Not a botanist at all. The species name means 'from Namibia'. *) Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016, Hyacinthaceae is now part of the Asparagaceae.
