This member of the Aizoaceae family was given this name by Nicholas Edward Brown in 1931. It is found in north-western South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some clay and lime gravel. It do not need that much water but some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to 14 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 22 centimetres in height. The flowers are yellow.

The genera name in honour of W. A. Rabie, a priest and plant collector in South Africa.

The species name from Latin: albus 'white' and pilosus 'hairs', for the white-hairy corolla. This is a winter-grower - but optimistic. A wild plant from Naturalista.mx. Another plant from Leroymerlin.it.
