PSEUDOBOMBAX PALMERI

This member of the Bombacaceae* family was given this name by Armando Dugan in 1943. It is found in the western Mexico, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The stem can grow to 40 centimetres and the tree from seven up to twelve meters in height. The flowers are white.

The genera name from Greek pseudo; 'false' and Bombax, another genera in the family. The species name after Edward Palmer,1829-1911, a self-taught British botanist and early American archaeologist. *) Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016, Bombacaceae is now part of the Malvaceae.
