PHYLLANTHUS MIRABILIS

This member of the Phyllanthaceae family was described by Johannes Müller Argoviensis in 1865.

It is found in Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, where it grows in rich soil and gets a lots of water in the rainy season. It does not need much sun. The stem can grow up to 30 centimetres in diameter, and reach a high of eight meters. The small flowers occurs on the leaves, and are pale yellow.

The genera name means 'leaf-flower', for some species which seem to bear flowers on leaves. The species name means 'wonderful'. This big one will keep it's leaves during the winter, but loose them in spring. The flower.
