This member of the Phyllanthaceae family was described by Johannes Müller Argoviensis in 1865.
It is found in Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, where it grows in rich soil and gets a lots of water in the rainy season. It does not need much sun. The stem can grow up to 30 centimetres in diameter, and reach a high of eight meters. The small flowers occurs on the leaves, and are pale yellow.
