This member of the Peperomiaceae* family was given this name by Guido Mathieu in 2011. It is found near La Agua Colorada in south-western Mexico, growing in a rich soil with quite some water and little sun. The caudex can grow to 0,5 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to five centimetres in height. The flowers are whitish.
The genera name means 'pepper-like', not as to appearance but as to kinship. The species name refers to the erect rachis by which the species is easily distinguished from P.questionis. ')Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016 is Peperomiaceae now part of the Piperaceae. Another flower by Roberto García, Inaturalist.org.
