Peperomia macrandra var. ampla Trel.

This member of the Peperomiaceae* family was given this name by Guido Mathieu in 2011. It is found in central Mexico, growing in a well drained soil with quite some water and none to little sun. The caudex can grow to five centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 25 centimetres in height. The flowers are greenish.

The genera name means 'pepper-like', not as to appearance but as to kinship. The species name means 'ample, spacious, broad', as it is bolder than the original species. ')Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016 is Peperomiaceae now part of the Piperaceae.
