This member of the Geraniaceae family was given this name by Carl Ludwig Willdenow in 1800. It is found in Lesotho and south-eastern South Africa, growing in a well drained sandy soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to one centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to ten centimetres in height. The flowers are white over pale purple to pink.
The genera name from Greek; pelargos; 'stork' for the ripening fruits, which resembles the bills of storks. The species name from the small size of the entire plant. Different looking plant from Garden.org. Flowers and fruits from Garden.org.
