This member of the Geraniaceae family was described by Harriet Margaret Louisa Bolus in 1932. It is found along the west coast of South Africa, grown in well-drained soil with some water and some sun. The flowers are white or crème colour to pale pink with dark red markings.

The genera name from Greek; pelargos; 'stork' for the ripening fruits, which resembles the bills of storks. The species name means 'thin leaves'. This is a winter-grower. Young plant by Vered A. Mann.
