OTHONNA CLAVIFOLIA

This member of the Asteraceae family was described by Hermann Wilhelm Rudolf Marloth in 1920, and is found in Namibia and South Africa. It grows in grit with little water and some sun. The caudex will grow to five centimetres, the stems to ten centimetres. The flowers are yellow, and it can be reproduced by cuttings as well.

The genera name from the Greek othone, 'a linen cloth or napkin', in allusion to the downy covering of some of the earlier known species. The species name means 'leaves like a club'. This is a winter grower.
