MONADENIUM FWAMBENSE

This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by Nicholas Edward Brown in 1911. It is found in Zambia, growing among rocks in gravel or other well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to eight centimetres, the whole plant up to 20 centimetres. The flowers are greenish and purple.

The genera name from the Greek monos; 'one' and -aden; 'gland', referring to the solitary gland. The species name referring to the region it is found in: Fwambo.
