This member of the Aizoaceae family was given this name by Steven A. Hammer in 1995. It is found in Klein Karoo, South Africa. It grows in a grit or other well drained soil with little water and lots of sun. The caudex will grow up to six centimetres in diameter, the plant raises up to twelve centimetres. The flowers are white and pink.
The genera name for Prof. Dr. Hermann Wilhelm Rudolf Marloth, 1855-1931, a German botanist. The species name means 'narrow leaves'. There seems to be two different looking plants on the web. One with narrow leaves and flowers, the other one rather bulky. The other form by John Balcom, Succulentguide.com.
