MANDRAGORA TURCOMANICA

This member of the Solanaceae family was given the name by Olga Fominichna Mizgireva in 1942. It is found in the Kopet Dag mountains in Turkmenistan and Iran, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to seven centimetres in diameter, the entire plant is not high, but the leaves, laying flat on the ground can reach from 30 to 90 centimetres. The flowers are violet to purple.
