This member of the Amaryllidaceae family was described by Mariano Lagasca in 1816, and is found in Spain and Morocco. It grows in a rock cracks or in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The leaves grow to 25 centimetres, the bulb can grow to five centimetres in diameter. The flowers are white with green bands. Te genera name from Latin lapis; 'rock'. The species is n amed after Maria Josefa Lapiedra (Mrs. of Martinez). Photo by José Quiles, Florasilvestre.es.
