This member of the Asteraceae family was given this name by Alwin Berger in 1905. It is found in Eswatini, South Africa and Zimbabwe, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The three centimetre rhizomes can grow in to a fifteen centimetre cluster, the plant can reach 30 or even 60 centimetres. The flowers are orange. The genera is named after the German zoologist, Dr Klein,1685-1759, and the species after E. E. Galpin, South African naturalist and collector,1858 - 1941.
