This member of the Cucurbitaceae family was given this name by Albrecht Wilhelm Philipp Zimmermann in 1922. It is found in Kenya, Tanganyika and Tanzania and some write: Madagascar. It is growing in a well drained soil with quite some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to 20 centimetres in diameter (I think), the entire plant to 200 centimetres in height. The flowers are yellow, separate female and male flowers.. The genera name from Greek kedrostis, 'white Bryony', the ancient name of a scrambling cucurbit. The species name means 'different leaves'. Must be juvenile/adult leaves, but many members of the genera does have huge variation in the shape of their leaves.
