FRITILLARIA CHITRALENSIS

This member of the Fritillariaceae* family was given this name by Brian Frederick Mathew in 1996. It is found in Afghanistan and the Chitral District of northern Pakistan, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to three centimetres in diameter, the entire plant from 20 to 45 centimetres in height. The flowers are bright yellow.
