EUPHORBIA TUBIGLANS

This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was described by Hermann Wilhelm Rudolf Marloth after Robert Allen Dyerin 1934. It if found in eastern and southern South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with little to some water and lots of sun. The caudex will grow to eight centimetres in diameter and the branches up to 15 centimetres in height. The flowers are greenish yellow to green.

The genera name; Euphorbia dates back to the first century BC, where King Juba II of Mauritania used it in a reference to his doctor, Euphorbos, and that name was kept as a generic name by Carl von Linnaeus. The species name from from Latin; tubus; 'tube' and Latin -glans; 'gland' for the tubular nectar glands.
