This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by Ferdinand Albin Pax in 1903. It is found in north-eastern Ethiopia, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to 2,5 centimetres or more in diameter, five centimetres high, the entire plant to five centimetres or more in height. The flowers are reddish to brownish. The genera is named after Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The species is named means 'shining red' for the flowers. A flowering plant by Галина/Galina, Pinterest.com.
