EUPHORBIA GRACILIRAMEA

This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by Ferdinand Albin Pax in 1904. It is found in northern Tanzania, south-western Kenya and Uganda, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to three centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to fifteen centimetres in height. The flowers are pale yellow. The genera is named after Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The species is Latin; gracile; 'slender, willowy' and -rameus; 'branch', for the slender branches.
