EUPHORBIA DECIDUA

This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was described by Peter René Oscar Bally & Leslie Charles Leach in 1975. It is widely spread in Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zaïre and Zimbabwe. It grows in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to ten centimetres in diameter, the branches up to 20 centimetres long. The flowers are pale green with a red centre.

The genera name; Euphorbia dates back to the first century BC, where King Juba II of Mauritania used it in a reference to his doctor, Euphorbos, and that name was kept as a generic name by Carl von Linnaeus. The species name means 'soon falling off, having falling leaves'. A plant from Specks.
