EUPHORBIA CYLINDRIFOLIA

This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was described by Julien Marnier-Lapostolle and Werner Rauh in 1961. It if found on Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with little to some water and some sun. The caudex will grow to ten centimetres in diameter, the stem to 25 centimetres in height. The flowers are white with a touch of orange. The plant can be reproduced both by seeds and cuttings.

The genera name; Euphorbia dates back to the first century BC, where King Juba II of Mauritania used it in a reference to his doctor, Euphorbos, and that name was kept as a generic name by Carl von Linnaeus. The species name after the cylindrical leaves. Hoogvliet's big one.
