This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by Susan Carter in 1990. It is found outside Ely in eastern Somalia, growing in a well drained limestone soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to three centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 1,5 centimetres in height. The flowers are white. The genera is named after Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The species is named from adeno; 'gland ' and chila; 'funnel-shaped'.
