This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by Susan Carter in 2000. It is found in Great Dyke; northern Zimbabwe, growing in a well drained or even gritty soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to thirteen centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 30 centimetres in height, 50 in wide. The flowers are greenish-yellow. The genera is named after Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The species is named means 'heaped', possibly referring to the cushion-like growth of the whole plant.
