DELONIX PUMILA

This member of the Fabaceae was described by David J. Du Puy, Peter B.Phillipson and Raymond Rabevohitra in 1995. It is found on Madagascar, the flowers are from white over crème coloured to yellow. It will grow to three meters and the stem can get 40 centimetres in diameter.

The genera name from Greek delos; 'evident' or 'conspicious' and Greek onyx; 'claw' for the long claw of the petals. The species name mean 'dwarfish'. Former a Caesalpiniaceae. Now, it's a sub-family to the Fabaceae: Caesalpinioideae.
