This member of the Primulaceae family was given this name by Friedrich Hermann Gustav Hildebrand in 1898. It is found only in Jabal Moussa in the valley of the Ibrahim River in central Lebanon, growing in a rich soil with lots of water and little to some sun. The caudex can grow to five centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to eight centimetres in height. The flowers are pale pink.
The genera name from Greek kyklos: 'circle' referring to the rounded tubers. The species name after the country it is found in: Lebanon. This is a winter-grower.
