This member of the Cucurbitaceae family was given this name by Monique Keraudren in 1960. It is found in the central western part of Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. At present, I have no information on the size, and I fail to understand the French in the original description, but it appears to be a rather small plant. The flowers are yellow. The genera name from Latin; corallum; 'coral' and Greek; karpos; 'fruit' for the red fruits. The species name from Mr. Grevé, a French colonist and naturalist, settled in Madagascar as farmer and collector for A. Grandidier. Female flower by Bernard Gacongne. Caudex by Bernard Gacongne.
