This member of the Burseraceae family was given this name by Joseph Marie Henry Alfred Perrier de la Bâthie in 1944. It is found on Madagascar, and I GUESS it will prefer a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. I THINK the stem can grow to 25 centimetres in diameter and reach two meters.
The genera name from Greek kommi; 'gum' and Greek - phoros; 'carrying' for the balsam-like scented resin. The species name means 'looking like cole' Please E-m@il.me, if you can add any information. The leaf by Ammann, M.Y., M. C. Madiomanana & A. J. Tahinariv, Ville-ge.ch.
