This member of the Asclepiadaceae* family was given this name by Patrick Siro Masinde in 1998. It is found in Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to eight centimetres or more, the vines reached one meter. The flowers are whitish to pale green.
The genera name is from the Greek word keropegion meaning 'candelabrum', because Linnaeus thought that the flowers looked like candles. The species name means 'unadorned' as it have no spots. *)Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016, Asclepiadaceae is now part of the Apocynaceae.
