BRUNSVIGIA GREGARIA

This member of the Amaryllidaceae family was given this name by Robert Allen Dyer in 1950. It is found in the south-eastern South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The bulb can grow to six centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to five centimetres in height - 40 centimetres with the flowers, which are pink to red.

The name Brunsvigia, in honour of the Duke of Brunswick. The species name indicate that many specimina growing in the same place.
