This member of the Asclepiadaceae* family was given this name by Ralph Peckover in 2019. It is found in the Dodoma and Iringa Region of Tanzania, growing in a well drained or sandy soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to 13 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 7,5 centimetres in height. The flowers are white and greenish to light purple.

The genera name from Greek; brachys meaning 'short', and stelma means 'crown, garland, wreath'; alluding to the short staminal corona of some species. The species name after the country it is found in. *)Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016, Asclepiadaceae is now part of the Apocynaceae. Photo by Petr Pavelka, CactusWorld.
