This member of the Asparagaceae was described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. It was original found in Cape Provinces og South Africa, Madagascar and Namibia, but it seems like there are more plants in Australia to day, causing real problems as a weed. It grows in peat or well-drained soil with some water and sun. The bulbs gets two centimetres in diameter, the slim stems will climb for 1,5 meters. The small flowers are white, and the plant can be reproduced both by seeds and bulbs. It may been renamed by A.A.Obermeyer in 1984 to Myrsiphyllum declinatum, member of the Liliaceae???

The genera name from Greek; aspazomai; 'to embrace' for the tubular stem-clasping leaf sheaths. The species name from Latin, meaning 'bend' or 'curved'.
