This member of the Aizoaceae family was given this name by Martin Heinrich Gustav Schwantes in 1926. It is found in Southern South Africa, growing in wintertime in grit with some water and some sun. The tubes will get four centimetres thick, the hole plant will only rice to ten centimetres. The flowers are pale pink with red stripes. It can be reproduced both by seeds, leaves and cuttings.
The genera name means 'looking like Aloe' - although I fail to see that! The genera name because the leaves sits in a rosette. This is a winter-grower like the other Aloinopsis '.
