By mistake: Adenia subsessifolia
This member of the Passifloraceae family was given this name by Joseph Marie Henry Alfred Perrier de la Bâthie in 1940. It is found in southern Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to 30 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 140 centimetres in height. The flowers are greenish yellow. Only 200 plants have been found in the wild uneven dividend in two populations - a number which probably will drop.
The name Adenia is derived from aden, meaning gland, and pertains to the glands found on leaves of most of the species.
The species name means 'leaf without stalk', referring to the sessile leaves.
